Dr Ron Dodzro is Co-Founder and a Director at Psychologists The Streets Deserve (PTSD). He is an experienced Clinical Psychologist and is a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS). He also sits on the UK trauma council.
Dr Ron is passionate about challenging inequalities in society that impact people's wellbeing and amplifying the voices of marginalised communities. Ron has an interest in developing creative, trauma-informed interventions that are accessible and meaningful for individuals and communities. As a result, he is regularly instructed to conduct psychological assessments for trauma and PTSD. He has a particular expertise in the assessment and treatment of people impacted by community violence.
He has extensive experience working within health, justice and community settings both within the NHS and third sector, spanning a career of 10 years within the mental health space.
With Dr Ron’s interest in dissemination, he has researched and written extensively on the experiences of community violence, with features in Forbes, The Voice, The Psychologist, The Clinical Psychology Forum, and various blogs. He has presented at conferences in the UK and internationally, provided workshops to the NHS and HMPPS, participated on podcasts, and has various publications focusing on the experiences of community violence in London. One of his well-known works is a report named ‘The Life of A Top Boy: Community Trauma and Violence which amplifies the voices of those with first-hand experience of the community violence that dominates our headlines. It unpicks the psychological impact of community violence through a lens of trauma.
